I thought them lost to the forum forever moving forward. Investigating today I came across a chrome extension that gets around the issue https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/photobucket-hotlink-fix/kegnjbncdcliihbemealioapbifiaedg?hl=en That said - YMMV and it may not always work. As mentioned before, I'm happy to replace photobucket images for imgur one in any users posts.
