Hi guys

Just thought I would ask a silly question on a new purchase of my 2011 XR6T

I was driving the other and gave it a little stick very impressed it did not disappoint.

Any way the next day when taking out for another drive.

Every time I would accelerate  slow or fast I could here the what I think is the Blow value releasing. like gas releasing from a A/C

Does this mean I have a problem or is it just a  simple adjustment. Look forward to your comments Thanks Steve

:Welcome2FordXR6t:

You might have a boost leak... by the sound of it.

Check all pipes from the outlet of the turbo to the intercooler and from the intercooler to the throttle body to make sure they're all correctly connected.

The system looks like this (from the outlet of the turbo on the top-left to the throttle body on the top-middle of this image).

One way you can tell if you have a boost leak, is if the car is lacking power. That was the first thing I noticed when the revs hit 2500rpm, there was no power. I was driving an N/A.

The other thing I have is an obdII port dongle which I have the android app called Torque, connected to it as a digital gauge. The boost was not showing up and I knew that I had a boost leak.

If the Torque app fails, enter Racewars and check your trap speed over 800m, I found mine dropped from 229 to 209km/h after a chair stopper I used to block the BoV pipes (after removing BOV) popped off during a run.

But Torque is much more practical :)
