Yeah I buy parts from these guys from time to time. And true they can be expensive but your getting genuine/new parts and if your XRt is a keeper, that's the way to go I recon. Especially if it's cosmetic/interior parts you seeking.

Got the core shifter kit fitted up yesterday arvo. Heaps better than the stock shifter and don't really notice any more noise over the stock shifter setup.6c4030399f8b3b3283fa21b80e6d6a4a.jpg9eb64ee9d7f737cbff39db2fbccb438b.jpg

boy have I missed out on a fair amount of updates on this thread. Not sure why it did not show up in my unread list.

Anyways, I wanted to place an update in here.

Ozywalker, thanks for the update. That just looks mint. :)

So at the end of last year, the shifter felt weird. I found this

Yeah the wrench strap had fell apart again for the 3rd time. I was over it and had to come up with a plan.

Spoke to a mate at work that does metal fabrication and welding.

as per image above there is no support. his quick suggestion was something like this:

he gave me a whole bunch of blank plates.

I know a few of you are going to have a fit cause they are not centered. I have limited tools to work with. one of them is not a vice grip.

The other issue was having sh*tty drills. I did what I could.

this should give you an idea what one side looked like before I put it all together.

This is the final product. There are two plates in there. looks like it is only one, but it is not.

This has made things quiet again and no loose feeling either.

Hi guys, new member and not mechanically gifted lol.I have noticed the poor gear selector on my ba and wanted to get an after market one.I went with the hurst quickshift and decided to install myself:( after getting the console out and gearstick unbolted I’m now at a rubber gaitor and a steel plate with 4 round fixings. Is the only way to get that plate out going under the car? Can I cut them off and insert new ones? Help appreciated.

I’m wanting to replace the whole part,I have the quickshift kit supplied so I’ve taken the 2 bolts out with the rubber and now need to find out about the plate.

You have to drop the rear of the box a bit to change the whole shifter.  Undo rear gearbox mount and lower a bit. This will make access easier.

Dont worry about Keith , it's been so long for him.   He forgot how to work on cars.

Haha.I figured we were on a different page.Yeh so dropping the box was my worst fear as I don’t have the equipment to do it.If I have to go spend money to get it done then do be it,just hoping it was an easy fix.

haha, my bad.

the rear is easy to drop, really. Just undo the gearbox mount and lower it down a bit with a jack.
