I have used the search function and searched for "gear knob replacement" and "gear stick replacement" and didn't get much results.

I am pretty sure that I am searching for the wrong terms, but can't remember what it is. Getting old sucks.

Anyways, I am using @arronm picture as a reference

There is nothing wrong with his shifter, so please don't get me wrong. That is not what I am after.

The stock gear know in my manual FG has been replaced once under warranty already.

the leather was peeling away and coming loose at the bottom.

It got to the point where the leather at the bottom had come out completely and would not go back in.

Well the top see through plastic bit that covers and protects the gear number sticker has come off.

I know that the car is no longer under warranty and so I want to replace the gear knob.

I have been told that the gear knob needs to have the sticker on it with the right gear numbers.

In the case of the picture above, it does not have any identifying numbers of where the gears are.

It looks good and looks smicko, but I would just rather replace the gear knob itself.

I haven't found anything out there,(as I suspect that I am using the wrong terms to look for what I am after)

I have also been advised that you can't just get the gear knob on it's own. you need to get the gear lever and knob as a package.

Now let the trolling begin, especially with all the terms being used above.

If you really want to put that #dildopic up, you can but I prefer not to know about your personal life.

Has anyone replaced the gear knob on their manual FG?

Anyone got links?

Std  thread is metric, for stock stick.

I will be running this for racewars. It has numbers on it in case I forget where the gears are.

ohhh I definitely won't be forgetting where the gears are, but if you ever have to go over the pits, I hear they fail ya if you haven't got the gears identified.

so what you saying is that the hurst gear knob in the picture above, could fit on the stock gear stick?

I also forgot to mention that I have the aeroflow short shifter installed.

I have tried to unscrew my gear knob before with not much success.

So after doing some digging around today, I know that Hurst have some knobs.

These guys over in the states, but I need to figure out what the metric thread size is before I know I can order any of them.

Thanks for the links guys. I dont want to have to buy the whole assembly cause I know that the leather and the clear gear sticker cover will peel away due to wear and tear.

I am seriously contemplating getting either the white or black hurst gear knob.

I am more inclined to get the black gear knob.

I am just worried that I wont be able to get the old gear knob off.
