As far as the lobes go they just need to be wet with oil as they would be when you normally start it. There is no need for assembly lube there but it wouldn't hurt it per se. crazyxa Member 84 Member For: 17y 1m 12d Posted 20/03/18 07:16 AM Share Posted 20/03/18 07:16 AM Out of interest. How many kms has that engine travelled? Given my recent experience I would say that’s normal wear for an engine that’s travelled 80k as that’s what my undamaged lobes looked like as seen in my pics. Had the rocker cover off tonight and noticed a slight mark on one of the intake cam lobes. This is the only one affected the rest are perfect. Is this something to be worried about??
