Tyre size for FG ute

New to sight & have searched. Any issues fitting 245/40R19's to an XR6 ute.

Not sure of offset, but genuine FG rims, if this helps

Should be ok. But don't quote me on it.
The tyres will be 24.5 mm taller, so they will be 12.25 closer to the upper arm/ball joint. Easy to measure yourself.

245/40/19 will fit on any ba-fg fine with any factory 19" wheels.

Funny you guys mention this. Went to a tyre place yesterday and discussed getting the rears replaced.

Instead of getting what I already have on there(245/35R19) they were suggesting 255/40R19

I went nah. I rather get 255/35R19 if that were the case.

anyways ended up not getting anything. Might just chuck dem invo's back on for the rears.

I got told this morning when I went to get them balanced & fitted that 245/35 19s is the largest you can go on the front. The 40's won't fit. So really have no idea

It's only 10mm (5mm top, 5mm bottom) extra of sidewall... who cares they'll fit... unless you're already tucking tyre, of course. The stock tyre isn't closer than 10mm to the upper control arm, is it?

I had 255/35r19 with no probs. Get a rule or tape measure under the guards and measure it yourself. Not hard to do if the wheels at full lock.
If your unsure of sizes check the will they fit website.

Haha I've got little practical tyre/wheel knowledge, so I could be wrong... I had 245/35/19 on my old F6 and it had plenty of room in all directions... The UCA is the closest thing I can remember and I remember it being more than 10mm away from the tyre.

I run a 245/45/17 on the BF's front - no rubbing or anything.

Ive had Falken FK453, 245/40/19's on genuine ford rims for 6 months no problem on my FG ute, I was going for the better weight rating. Bob Jane has had them running on a local GS ute for a few years as well. Other brands may have slightly bulgier side walls or a different shape that may not leave any room but the Falkens I can Confirm!

Speedo is thrown out a bit, 100km/h on the dash is 103km/h on the GPS.

Bupalooga was this on the front? Tried to put 245 45s on the front of mine but the wall was hitting uca's so theyre on the back now and was wondering if 245 40s would go on the front and thus I stumbled upon this post.
