Yeah I was wondering how long the engine will survive at these boost levels?

Also Jet, any suggestions to bring boost levels back and controllable?

There's no getting around a mechanical overboost issue except a 4000rpm limiter hahahahaha

honestly it needs a suitable port and flap job done on the turbocharger rear housing, then an adequate actuator and preload setting then bobs your uncle

the tuner did all 3 of these as they recommended it would be needed after the initial run.  They did say they had never seen this type of turbo.

Am I now screwed because I tried a Mamba turbo.

What ither mechanical methods can be tried?

If your tuner can't maintain lower than 24psi of boost with a 38mm flap you obviously have greater flow than expected and need to jump to the monster port 40mm flap/port combo

this is the problem with a new type of turbo or any hardware in fact as you do become the test pig

I had a good look at the Mamba site earlier. Surprising they supply it with such a small waste gate port. Considering the front wheel should flow more than a GTX3582 you'd think a bigger waste gate port would be the first thing they do.

Good on ya for doing the hard work for us@molch, never fun being the test dummy lol.

Also if anyone else is interested Mamba do have the GTX3584 CHRA with a 4" .7 comp cover available on their website, http://shop.mambatek.com/GTX3584R-Tubo-CHRA-w-4-Anti-Surge-A-R-70-Comp-Housing-038-0076.htm

I'd seriously email them and let them know the issues you've got with over boosting

for a while I could have sworn they sold one with a larger flap
