The 7700 wouldn't be a very good upgrade from my cpu for the money but it would be better value for money for gaming than the threadripper lineup.

How's your water cooling adventure coming along? Have you had a chance to play with the voltage curves in afterburner?

crash---crash---crash  goes my PC,  bang--bang--bang  goes my head  :bangcomputer:

really not wanting to ditch my beloved GTX 690, I had one more test to see if it wasn't the PCiIe slot in the MOBO that was cactus

because of hard pipe water cooling I had to drain the system and make a couple of new tubes so I could shift the card down a couple of slots

I did have a spare video card plugged in there and it was running without a problem.

plugged the spare video card into the suspect slot - - - - - - - - -and it worked perfectly

plugged the monitor into the GTX 690 - - - - - - - - - - - nothing,won't even post anymore :crybaby:

for the observant types, yes I did have the power plugged into the card

so I have this coming, hopefully be here Friday

didn't have the cash for the Ti, but I'm sure this will provide me with hours of fun :gamer:

Probably a silly question, but there's not an extra power slot on the MB to up the voltage to the PCI lanes that you forgot to plug in when you rebuilt?

Mines takes a sata power line (at the bottom of the board)

@bloodycrashboy is it too late to cancel that order? As newegg has some really good pricing on graphics cards especially with the current exchange rate

 yeah, already paid

just had a quick look and found this, which is about the same price as what I have bought
