FINALLY got the chance to install the acrylic panel, 2nd NVME drive and the high speed SLI bridge.

They have been sitting besides my desk for about a year mocking me - have never had the time and motivation line up to act.

Now I'm going to have to think about getting @bloodycrashboy to set me up a sexy water loop with RGB - never cared for it before - now I think I'll have to ;)

Couple of pics below - haven't logged in yet, just booted it headless once put together to see how it looked - will be able to get the colours to play well together once I fire it up properly

edit: also hooked up the bluray drive that had just been sitting there inactive since the machine was put together :S

Quick copy/paste.

https://www.ekwb.com/shop/

Went with soft piping to get the system all up and running (will be a pretty heavy build) - will look at hard piping at a later date.

Going black and yellow (case is dark inside) - if I don't like the colour then I'll change it when I go hard piping.

Was an impulse purchase last night after far too much scotch, but I don't really regret it thismorning so all good ;)

Originally went to the site looking at their aluminium AIO setups, got sidetracked with their system build option and hit "buy now"

Will just need UV lights inside the case now (and maybe some RGB)

Will need to find the rails for the case (they're packed away somewhere) to install the 240 radiator at the bottom where the double fan outlet is.

Anyone jumped ship from Intel to AMD lately?

The last couple of months I've been putting together a wish list to replace the Intel i7-930 I built back in 2010, which in the last week has given me two BSOD's that everything I've looked at points to CPU/motherboard, as I ran RAM testing for 48+ hours straight and it all came up 100% plus I swapped RAM between slots and replaced the Corsair RAM with some spare Kingston's  I had laying around, so it doesn't appear to be RAM.

The current list was basically Intel Core i7-7700K CPU, MSI C236A Workstation board, GTX 1060 6GB GPU and 2x Intel 256GB M.2's but has since been swapped over to Samsung MZ-V6E250BW 960 Evo M.2 250GB drives.

However talking to one of the guys today, he said to look at the new AMD Ryzen's, especially as the thread count is higher compared to the Intel's.

I don't game anywhere near as much as I used to but I do intend to get into video editing soon, so I'm wondering which is the better platform, I have two whitebox Servers for my VM needs, so it's basically general duties for this PC plus video editing.

If I was building one now I'd definitely be looking at them seriously.

First time since the Athalon XP days AMD have been of interest to me :)

The last AMD I bought was when the Athlon X2's came out and I haven't really kept up on the differences because since the Core2's first came out, Intel have just always seemed to be in front.

Same with the ATI/AMD graphics cards.

Occasionally they pop up with one worth looking at, but Intel/nVidia always seem to be the smart/safe choice.
