just out of curiosity, my Intel® Core™ i7-3930K in my system I built in 2012 was an "enthusiast" level CPU

the LGA 2011 platform with quad channel DDR 3 memory  was top dog in the synthetic test benches at the time

my rig was listed in the top 1% in the world of personal computers in 2012

back then 4GB of RAM was the norm, I had 16

Intel was king of the CPU wars

fast forward to 2019

the new norm for RAM is 16GB

my new rig is just above mainstream, but as you can see from the pic I posted, it's almost 1 and a half times faster than my old 3930K

The CPU war is now leaning toward AMD,  the new Ryzen 9 3950x is due for release tomorrow, it will be a game changer

cheaper than Intel and arguably better in all areas

yeah; he doesn't have the most endearing personality, but he's definitely true to himself and doesn't skimp on giving out quality information in his videos.

Looks like I got the same board as your boss BCB...

Was gonna go Ryzen but ended up with a 9900KF because MSY has it so dammed cheap. Got it stable at 5ghz but I really need to learn more about overclocking. The old CPU was such a bottleneck. Also thinking of getting more RAM just for the RGB HAHA.

Any thoughts on this as a replacement case:

Or alternative suggestions.

That case is awesome

Very similar to mine

I loved the extra space at the rear of the motherboard

Cable management was a breeze

You definitely need more RGB Ram

My mobo is a ROG Strix

the extra space at rear of motherboard is something im used to in current case. I have to accomodate a 240mm radiator that's 80mm thick.

just worried about airflow over the motherboard, don't want to take a step back from what I already have.

Does that distribution plate include a pump? it seems like it does but it's too small. I run a D5 pump with res on top.

Don't tempt me...... HA

is yours the larger version of this case?

I bought this one

https://www.pccasegear.com/products/43082/lian-li-pc-o11-dynamic-tempered-glass-case-white

You can put up to 3 fans on the floor of the case blowing air up
So plenty of airflow over the mother board

I mounted my thick radiator inside the front chamber, with the fans in the back chamber blowing hot air out of the case
I don't think you will fit a thick radiator in the second chamber
Check out the video in the link above

Bottom line for me
I love how this case looks and accommodates everything you can throw at it
Function and form

yeah....it's kinda got me bitten. Was happy using my current case until I saw it ❤️

I really need to go see one before buying it but local shop has not got one on display.

Am thinking of going hard tubing...have access to all the tools needed...just love how easy soft tubing is to work with.

Hard tubing is a little bit difficult but the struggle is totally worth it
I never used soft tube
Started with hard tube and in my opinion it looks soooooooooo much better

here is a couple of pics of the "second chamber" or the space behind the motherboard which is traditionally only about 30 to 40 mm

hope this helps with your decision

looking at the pic below, you can see the provision for a second power supply, Lian Li have thought of everything

They've broken me with this case too! If I pulled the trigger I would go GPU block + two triple 120 radiators. Ran out of money after the 9900K upgrade though!

Hey has anybody measured power draw under load? I get about 100W idle and 400-450w under load. running 650w PSU. 9900K+2080.

I'm gonna sound like an apple fan but I can't go past the ipads, I still have the original ipad which is fully working and cannot say that about any android tablets I've owned. That being said you can get something far cheaper in android than apple... (edit: the ipad pro is crap, when I recommend apple ipad I recommend their cheapest model).

I am officially a Lian Li fan boy

When ever I have read or watched a review about one of their products there is usually praise lavished upon it

I got my new case because of such a review and I wasn't disappointed

I just purchased 6 120mm Lian Li RGB fans

theses are the most beautiful fans I have ever bought

standard black/white plastic but with the addition of an aluminium ring both sides that actually has a machined surface

Fitted my new fans and changed things around a bit.

Finally screwed down the water pump/reservior

Got the new fans on push, old fans were pull configuration

RGB looks pretty cool, photos don't really do it justice

Still have to put the dye in, just watching for any leaks

Also, my OCD is wanting me to make another tube from the CPU to the side radiator

Cos not quite right
