yeah no idea what happened there...the 1080s will run fine for the future, at least next few years and a viable RT/DLSS option would be maybe next gen. I do a lot of 2/4k VR stuff so GPU juice is a bonus though not warranted (I don't think anyway) apart from the NVLINK which shows awesome utilisation on both cards.

cost I looked at would be around $1200 (or so)

If you are into competitive benching then get a couple of 2080tis. Otherwise, if you are just stuffing around with gaming and tentacle porn, I wouldn't bother upgrading, as the cost to performance gain will be crap right now and probably will still be crap for the next 5 years.

Watercool the whole lot now and upgrade when the system isn't capable of it's intended use. It'll still have decent resale value as cards and cpus don't suck massive donkey balls any more.

fock pcs, should of just bought a laptop haha

I am currently looking at getting water cooling soon.

do it! go full water!

Cost a lot of money though...money that could go towards a new set of rear tyres after you do a fat burnout.

I got no issues with a 10+ year old waterblock that I got for free sitting right above my $1200 graphics card.... ok it does induce a little anxiety

Just so ya know there is a driver update for nvidia cards today that lets you use a freesync monitor and have variable refresh rate. So basically gsync on a freesync monitor.

I'm installing it now. My gpu and monitor are well matched, so for the most part I probably won't use it. Still, it might be interesting to mess around with for a bit.
