I love the GTX series no questions they perform and so far the GTW does not spool as fast or can support the low end punch the GTX can ( apples for apples ) but..... Yes the GTW pushes harder uptop and will create that highter rwkw figures

if anyone wants a good deal on anything genuine Garrett buzz me a pm :)

I think mentioned it before, but check the gtw exhaust wheel trims carefully. They would need a small housing and large ext gate to perform anywhere near a gtx in terms of response.

The t04z hotside is what let it down, the cold side is still acceptable.

I really think most new turbo choices are redundant due to how versatile the 35r hotside is.

The stock turbine wheel and housing can go 500 with the right mods and comp wheel and cover or can have lightning fast spool thatll give supercharged 8s a run for its money torque wise.

I really dont understand this GTW range I feel like im missing something

Also where were you with that 6 months ago when I bought my mamba gtx2860

The draw back of the ford turbine housing when looking for more fresh air (from the compressor) is the size of the wastegate.

The gtw is not bolt on and neither is a gtx. The gtw needs more fitting by far.

With the modifications required, although not excessive, coupled with the lag a gtw would bring, one would seriously need to think about staying with a gtx35r or modified gt35r even if the slightly larger power figure is tempting.

Sorry matty but I thought most people know I can help out on nearly anything in the aftermarket world ;)

the GTX series only needs an actuator bracket but the stock one can be used when two new holes are drilled into it if push comes to shove, yes it's the 4inch intake size that makes it not so bolt on and you then need a new silicon joiner that's stepped to make it happen so it's as bolt on as it comes in regards to turbos

but after spending +$1500 on a turbo a bracket and a new silicone isn't the end of the world

Can you machine the housing to fit the GTW turbine? Or is it always a new setup

I haven't done it myself so I can't speak from experience.

The bloke who is modding my stock turbo had reservations about the amount of material available in the turbine housing to fit the gtw3884r wheel.
