From my understanding - MKII cat flowed heaps better, and also met new emissions regulations.

Restrictor ring matched it to the flow of the original so a different factory tune (or total "start at the beginning") wasn't required for the MKII cars

Stock exhausts are meant to be pretty good - with the weak point the Cat -

Biz,

That is a great answer for outright power on a budget, but not so great for emissions/legality

Jules,

Again a good answer - venom is known to make good products- but

A. is going to cost

B. it is going to look non standard (which may lead to being tested)

C. Which of the products 4", 4.5", 5" and which cell per square inch configuration 100, 200 or 400

D. Assuming the biggest/best flowing (5" 100 cell), will it still pass emission testing?

Even with the restrictor ring removed, I would guess that the euro 4 cat would be at least as clean as the previous cat which had no restrictor ring.

Flow information would give a definite answer about one being less restrictive than the other.

The insulation stock cover will go over the venom cat to give a similar to stock appearance. Only difference will be stainless steel tubings.
