How Much Boost For A Stock Ba?

Have a pretty stock BA xr6t, has xr8 pod style filter, hi flow cat and 2 1/2 inch exhaust.

I bought a flash tuner with a 11 psi tune on it.

Is this too much boost for stock internals?

If so could I just regulate the boost down to say 8-9psi with a boost controller?

If not what PSI should I ask for in a custom tune?

FWIW you're best to get a custom tune for your car.

Where's the 11 psi tune from that came with your flash tuner?

Flash the factory tune back in if running a generic tune and take your box to a tuner and get a custom dyno tune. The tuner will take your goals and platform into account and give the car a healthy amount of boost for the amount of power the platform can cope with safely in the current configuration.

As mentioned in the two posts before, please don't use email tunes. Instead of costing you 2k for a custom tune, it is gonna cost you a whole new motor.

Each car is different when it comes to valve springs. It could be that your car won't need them replaced to get to 300kw(example), where as another car would need it.

I was lucky enough that I didn't need springs, but I plan on getting them done next for peace of mind.

If you going to fit a high flow cat, then you need a custom tune.

The 11 psi tune was put on there by bpr racing. I think now a custom tune would b best. Is there any point putting a bigger intercooler on before getting a custom tune or is it just a waste of money?
