Pass on klipsch, specially at Harvey's. Few decent brand- Focal, Bowers & Wilkins, Krix (although Krix is better for movies than music).

Krix Ftw. Have had many speakers and amp setups but best sound so far is krix. They dont win awards for nothing and its sa made in the gettos. (Hackam).

For a aussie built speaker they are sh*t hot.

A great setup you will be looking between 4 & 10k but f*ck man is it worth it.

Love getting letters in the mail box and cops knocking on my door. Lol

Only issue is do not leave any glass cups on the sink.

Vibration from the sub = clean up.

I will never buy another brand.

My bro has spent about 7k on Bose and its shat as compared to mine.

KRIX FTW............... close thread. Lolololol

Edit. Dont close thread. I like tvs to. Lol

Far out.. maybe cause I'm a deaf bastard but I can't even imagine forking out those dollars for a sound system.

As for TV's? Personally I believe smart TV's are over rated. If you want PC functionality on a TV buy a small media PC and keep a mini wireless keyboard and mouse on your couch.

My TV at the time was 3 grand cheaper than the alternative smart TV for the same size.

Also worth noting is don't be shy of 'lesser brands'. A fair few years back I walked through the displays at the good guys wanting a new TV,, everything was playing the exact same sh*t so I made a deal with myself to ignore brands and literally pick the TV with what I thought the best picture.

Walked out with a 'changhong' plasma. Still have it. Starting to get a bit of burn in the screen but it's been kicking both inside and outside for movies and video games and kids TV for 6 years. Considering it was only a outlay of $400 I think that's a bargain.

Since then we bought the Sharp Aqueos 70" dumb TV. But it does the trick. Still prefer the plasma for video games.

Thanks for the replies so far guys,

Lots of good stuff to consider now...

^ I do somewhat agree with you Panda as I have read that at the present, all LCD panels are only produced by 3 or 4 manufacturers. This will change in the near future I'd suspect, but you do raise a valid point - Still I can't help but be a bit wary due to the cost...

Thanks everyone... It's still no easier hahahaha :spoton:

Off to the retailers I go then! :3gears:

Many many many moons back, I forked out over 12k for my sound system.

B&W 603 floor standing speakers, 601 book shelf speakers for rears, centre speaker, sunfire sub woofer and the Yamaha amp.

I know that they are no longer worth that much, but I know they are going to be in this house for a long long long time. :D

The sound quality is awesome, but when the surround kicks in especially in movies, it is insane.

We watched a horror movie once and when they knocked at the door, we shat ourselves cause we thought it was our door. That is how real it sounded.

In Terms of TV, I believe that there has been a fair bit of arguing going on about the old 8 bit and the new 12bit chips for 4k.

Some people say that you should wait until the new standard has been set and the 12bit chip is the default. (This apparently makes the old 8bit TV's obsolete).

I have no idea when they are going to officially complete the industry standard of using 12bit chips.

I wish I knew cause then I would know, how long I have to wait before getting a new TV.
