Didn't know you could actually salvage batteries like this :omg:

At close to $300 bucks each for the high CCA ones for 6 in-line Fords - worth extending their usage life

A battery can read 12 volts but soon as a load is put on it it can drop to zero...

Load tests and hydrometer are best way to check

Battery sitting on concrete is the fastest way to kill one

Why would a battery suiting on concrete be bad.

Is it that its sitting there with no activity or has the concrete got something to do with it. I'm not following.

Concrete is very cold, batteries don't like cold

I don't know the science or if it's actually true but at work (diesel mechanic) workshop rule was if battery out, its on a piece of wood or rubber

If anyone forgot usually that battery was rooted

We always had put batteries on pallets in the army. IMO this was to make it easier to move with a forklift instead of screwing up someone's day but you had the old bastards saying the earth discharges them when sitting on the ground (insert dumbf*ck here)!

Like half a foot more was going to make a difference on the earth's magnetic crust and batteries are encased in plastic now for a reason...

So battery dudes my battery is causing rough starts according to Monsta torque- should I buy a new one or how should I bring the old one fully back to life? It's a century high performance or something. The green light is on indicating the battery is ok and it still manages to start the car ok and it runs fine also
