Take a good pic of your car somewhere nice and post it up so we can be jealous of having a T outside this country!!

If you want max flutter. Remove bov and block holes. Then buy a turbo side air intake kit. Buy a good brand name one like Plazmaman, Process West, Nizpro and maybe one of them will be able to post it to you in Fiji?

If BA/BF..I think you can buy a under battery pod kit; otherwise may have to buy turbo side + battery relocation kit

Good luck!

STAGE 2; the flutter experiment !

Because just blocking off the BOV vacuum line was a big fail, I decided to follow Ralphs, Barnz and Nitros method of blocking all 3 lines leading to the BOV.

I found it easier to just remove the whole crossover manifold .

I made up a couple of rubber bungs for the inlet and outlet BOV hoses.

Result......

Flutter, flutter, everywhere !

Flutter mid throttle after changing gears,

Flutter backing off,

Flutter full throttle after changing gears,

And the turbo sounds a little louder maybe at full throttle.

It's not outrageously loud, but loud enough.

But is there a performance gain?

That is the big question isn't it!

I gotta say it feels a little stronger but I can't be 100% sure on that one.

I'll leave the bungs in a few weeks and watch my fuel economy and rear of car for soot.

Then I'll change it back and see if I feel any difference.

Disclaimer ; while I had my piping off I checked the turbo for play and it has more than I'd like!

So if it sh!ts itself then it could be due for a rebuild.

It is actually marginally quicker in a circuit or drag situation. Particularly in a manual, less loss of boost on a change or even a 1-2psi spike. There is a reason WRC cars dont run them...

Maybe I should give blocking mine up a go. Might make me use less go pedal to get the noise and save fuel. I suspect I'd get tired of flutter even at moderate throttle lift off though. When you're passing that cop car you do not want to sound off!
