Hmmmmm interesting.

I have a t56 and some days with the ac on it sounds like a truck lol

I just serviced it with the oil it suggested, dex lll

I was unsure at first. But having pulled down the box. It's nothing special. Just large parts. Not refined like a jap box. The sincros are what the oil is specified for. So they don't wear out. And actually work. If the oil was too thick. They probably wouldn't work . If the sincros worked with super thick oil. I would put it in. Its a really basic design. Im sure if someone could be bothered. They could trial alot cheaper alternatives and find the right medium for sincros and gears. It's just a lazy ass sh*t design.built for cheap strength. Anyway $140 it works better than dex 111

It says to stay away from synthetic oils?!?!?! I have a smal grind from 2-3 and it's noisy at idle a little..... Think oil would help it?

wouldn't hurt to call him and find out for sure, rather than speculating.

I spoke to him on the phone the other week...

Apparently the Transmax z changed and Mal Wood now recommends dexron 3.

Funny that!

Tremec quotes to use dex lll and not a synthetic oil.

Sounds like another zf thing. Use this oil

That oil! What ever people use and works must

Be fine :/ manufacturer would know...

Tremec always recommended Dexron III and you're 100% fine to use it. Transmax Z is an alternative option. Choose to use it or not under your own decision making skills.

I spoke to Mal Wood about 2 months ago, he told me I can run Transmax Z no problems. He also did say I can run Dexron III

I bought my Transmax Z from Repco, cost me a smidge under $200, as they only sell it in 4 litre containers, and I wanted 4.8L (or 4.6, cant remember the exact spec).
