Hey guy,

I've been putting this off for a while now but it's time to fix my to fix all my leaks.

My engine had a mishap when the PCV one way valve started to fail and pressurize the crank case. Since fixing the PCV, I've have acumulated a few annoying leaks and my head gasket has started to leak coolant :)

The list:

*head gasket

*rocker cover

*timing cover

*sump

*rear main

*engine mounts

*valve springs

hmm, I thought about that but I was too scared about it stripping. There's a half decent looking set at SuperSh*tAuto which I might try, good to know a 12pt will work though, thanks.

for what its worth, I would buy the e-torx sockets, think of it, 30 bucks and there yours, they come in handy a sh*t loads of time, my mate brought a set of them, now I want them!! haha

also allot of the sockets at supercrappo have a life time warrenty, except the elcheapo ones for 2 bucks haha. I have put a few through hell and never broke one yet. Not saying you cannot break them though lol

From memory an e-18 etorx socket

Correct, ended up buying that socket set, did the trick :)

It appears I've joined the broken chain guide club. The chain was holding the guide together, I had no idea.

130,000km

First 75,000 it lived in Brisbane and got dealer serviced before I bought it, now lives in the country and gets flogged but more regular servicing.

The contrast between lifestyles highlighted the varnished up check valve on the PCV system about 2 weeks after I bought it, making most of the seals leak :(

Dropped the head in for machining/inspecting this morning. They are also going to install the new plazmaman valve springs :)

Stripped

Might be a silly question but I'm a noob so IDGAF. Is the black piston top crud only due to coolant getting in to the combustion chamber?
