Recently downloaded the paid version of the Torque app from the android store.. ($5)

Mated it to an eBay OBDII bluetooth adapter ($9) and had a quick fiddle today..

Seems to work great so far and looks like theres heaps more potential inside once ya get started..

Anyone else use this App ??

Love to know some tips and tricks to its operation and data logging features etc..

Ok go :D

I use this type of dongle which for the price works well- http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-V1-5-ELM327-OBD2-ODBII-Bluetooth-CAN-BUS-Scanner-Car-for-TORQUE-ANDROID-PC-/111357774565?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item19ed70cae5

There was another one I bought which was blue in colour (V Gate or something?) which worked with my Samsung Note 2, S2 and S1 but was slow so gave it away to Campbell8 and he said that it would not work with his iphone so I'd pass on that type.

If you were to use it all the time every time then I would buy one of the adaptors like Kiwi etc that turn themselves off and are extremely consistent and accurate...

I'm all over it

Bloody brilliant

My favorite is to See the timing

What does yours show? Mine looks all over the shop so maybe the wrong PID?

But I love mine, best thing since fried rice!

I'll take a screen shot of it tomorrow but timing should be all over the shop

It's very dynamic

At cruise it'll sit between 40 and 55 degrees advanced

At cold start it'll sit at minus 2.5 and warm idle it'll sit at 18

Very interesting stuff (well to me at least)

In regards to the bluetooth devices, I bought this one when they were 200 clams.

http://www.scantool.net/obdlink-mx.html

They have been on special for a while since there is a new version out.

That being said they turn off when the car turns off. Saves the battery.

I got torque free edition all setup and working with boost, timing, coolant temp, rpm, throttle position and load.

I did buy the pro version, but cant figure it out, to set it up like the free edition.

Cbf trying to figure it out. Maybe mattyp can put a youtube tuturial together for us hey?
