Note just had the ecu looked at last week and they fixed some dry soldier joints to my knowledge gave it back to me unsealed still so I could test it and make sure all was sweet , car ran good for a week so I let them seal the ecu up that evening of it being sealed up I drove the car for about fifteen minutes and it went into limp mode once again , so now im back at square one and not sure what to do, although in my mind im certain something must of happened during the resealing process or on that day but I cant recall anything apart from the ecu being resealed and refitted to car, any suggestion would be awesome.


Hi all I have a 2003 ford XR6T which wont go out of limp mode.
I have had the
ecu scanned and has come up with the following.
p0230 fuel pump primary circuit malfunction
p0753 shift solenoid a electrical
p0758 ssb electrical
p0763 ssc electrical
p0768 ssd electrical
p1465 a/c relay circuit
p1474 fan control primary circuit
p1748 pressure control solenoid a

I have exactly the same codes coming up at the moment and exactly the same issue.

I'm going to try a few things tonight as far as plugs and wires, otherwise it looks like it could be PCU.

Might sound stupid but check alt charge also make sure your earths at good at ecu to body. Body to eng. and body to batt. I'm working on one ATM alt lights going off but not charging down to 11.9while running it should be 14.2 to 14.8!

yep, checked charge yesterday, also getting consistant power supply to transmission valve body when it flicks from normal into limp mode.

My earth all looks new, theres no corrosion at all.

I'm sending my ECU/PCM off hopefully tomorrow to get tested.

hey mate,

just got my ECU back from being tested by logicar and they couldnt find anything wrong.

next step for me is replacing my EEC relay.

testing with a multimeter it seems fine, however if it faults for even a few milliseconds it could cause a fault.

I'll let ya know how I go.

changed eec relay, still no good.

checked trans oil, looks clears (no water))

next step will be using a test light to ensure there is a constant power feed to the gearbox.

it looked good with a multi meter but if its only a rear quick power loss the multimeter may not have picked it up.

apart from that the only thing I could see it being is either the tranny itself which is unlikely as all 5 went at once, or a cambus problem which could be f*cking anything!'

so after a lot of screwing around, I changed the ecu on tuesday and it has been fine ever since.

Logicar did not find any issues with the ECU, so be wary that simulation testing does not always find the issues.

also interestingly, a few auto elecs I have spoken to have told me that these ecu's cant be repaired which is interesting...
