Share Posted 11/06/17 10:34 AM (edited) Posted 11/06/17 10:34 AM Share Since no one else has chimed in... I'm a quarter mile virgin (at the track at least, street may be another story) but putting a manual XR6T down the strip in a respectable time isn't so easy. Plenty of good threads on here for info. Member on here @F6 UTE no longer logs on but was a pretty talented pedaller when he was getting into it, couple of threads which may help: http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/25839-f6-ute/ http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/24555-quick-times/ Some no holds barred attempts have been made to get a fast time in a manual, read this: http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/63278-project-manual-typhoon-9-sec/ Read these http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/75136-manual-ute-14-mile-times/ http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/39171-launch-tactics/#comment-587198 Of course there's nothing like practice though. As they say, it's all in the 60, a good launch is key which at the strip will mean giving your clutch a bit of a hiding. What do you have, at your power level I'm doubting it's standard? Share Posted 30/07/18 09:42 AM Posted 30/07/18 09:42 AM Share There was a 10.7 ? Manual blue ba/bf f6 pretty sure the dyno mite tuned one the other week. Was a perfect pass fairly slow in the 60 and not big mph just clean tidy shifting. Actually found it. Apparently makes 700kw but must have been turned down heaps. Ran 10.5@135 on a 1.75 60ft. Ive ran a 11.91 being my seccond ever test and tune in my full street trim 2013 xr6 turbo down on mph having trouble with the 3 4 shift not wanting to go in under load. Be good if anyone had some updates and we could get this thread back up and running Cheers Craig

Share Posted 27/03/21 08:00 AM Posted 27/03/21 08:00 AM Share Is anyone doing any fancy tuning for manual drag racing? I'm wondering if ignition cut on gear change would minimise mis-shifting and help the syncros?

Share Posted 22/04/21 01:57 AM Posted 22/04/21 01:57 AM Share Thought process. Anyone put 2.73 gears in a manual in an attempt to cross the line in 3rd gear still? Get rid of that shift plus spend heaps longer in the meat of the power curve = fast et's. I'm using a n/a tr6060 so my first gear is 3.36 vs turbo 2.98 which will help it but still not quite the same as a turbo with 3.45 gears. This would be in an attempt to run 10.9 at about 130mph 450ishkw. The math gives me the mph in 3rd with a 1.35 reduction.
Share Posted 22/04/21 02:32 AM Posted 22/04/21 02:32 AM Share the 3rd to 4th shift is the easiest and quickest shift and you have heaps of time to get yourself psyched up to get it right haha... but if you want to go through the effort for the different gearing to avoid it, sure... Share Posted 22/04/21 08:47 AM Posted 22/04/21 08:47 AM Share More about being in other gears for longer. Currently by the time it builds boost in 1st and second I'm ready to shift again.
