Well it has been an interesting weekend. I will try and divide the posts up into the different work that has been done.

This is also more of a log for me, of the work that was carried out.

It is great when you have the right tools. Thanks to Philmeup and RalphWiggum for the suggestions.

Got me a nipple crimp.

Also got me a scrubber.

First up was my diff oil that needed changing. I had a thump pump as recommended by G6G6e and it worked a treat. Gave my upper arms a work out. ;)

At first I was looking for a 30/31/32 size spanner at a few places as I had no idea that the FG fill plugs are different to the BA/BF diff fill plug.

I had to get under my car to find out that mine looked like:

As soon as I knew that I had the right tool to take the fill plug out, I decided to do the job.

Easier said than done. Getting the hex key into that tight area was a bitch.

Lucky enough I had bought a shifter for the job and I used the back end of that to use as a breaker bar if you want to call it that.

The oil came out dark and bit thick. not like syrup, but I could tell it needed a change.

Can't see what the oil looks like because of the black pan and the reflection, so I dabbed a cloth in it.

This was done on Thursday the 1st of January 2015 and it meant a fresh start to the year for the diff oil. :)

Once the car was flat, I left it dripping for 30 minutes and then put the sump plug back in.

I then filled her up with 1.8/1.9L of the Nulon 80w-140 oil and plugged her up.

Feels the same, but I have not had the whine at about 56/57 km/h in sixth gear which is good.

The final update I have at the moment is for the rear brakes. This was done on Friday the 2nd of January 2015.

With the right tools, it made life easier. The only Issue I had and only found out towards the end of each change was that my torque wrench only goes up to 108.x nm

I gave the dial half a turn which equates to 122.x nm and that was the closest I could get the torque wrench to the 135nm recommended by Luke and philmeup for the bolts for the calliper and the wheel nuts.

I had a look at the rear right rotor and this is what I found.

They seemed glazed on the inside with hardly any rubbing.

Let's see if anyone can spot the problem here:

I didn't even think twice when doing this and left them for 10 minutes. I then started to look at the old pads and realised that the back of each pad was different.

That is when it hit me. Two of them would have to have the paste in the middle for the piston.

So off I went back to the bench to change the paste over and add a bit more.

Once that was done, I left them for another 10 minutes or so, which was more than enough.

At this stage I started the clean up process of the hub where the rotor meets up and thank goodness for this

I then proceeded to try and clean up the calliper as well

Once the wirebrush worked it's wonders I got the Repco rotor and Bendix CT pads in there and finished off.

Final install:

Yes I did put the braided line back into the bracket with the red plug.

I also did put a bit of grease around the centre stud.

On a side note, all 4 pads were cracked and partly glazed.

Hahaha you are a funny man Steve. No need to paint them red. I could live with the sunburst colour. :P

Tim it is a size 10.

This should make my life easier for the next service.

Got the stock fuel filter being replaced tomorrow morning.

This will give me enough time to decide what after market filter to get.

Friday 20th saw the suspension of the car upgraded with shockies(the secret is out now).

Camber kit installed and control arm bushes replaced with Nolathane.

Shudder still affecting the car at speeds over 80km/h.

Replaced DBA T3 rotors with OEM rotor and put OEM pads back in. shudder has gone.

DBA rotors will be skimmed soon.
