Hi guys!

Notest the last few weeks that I have a strange noise in the rear of my xr6 T ute.

When cold everything sounds fine. After driving half an hr on freeway and start driving in city roads every time I turn a corner I hear this whop whop whop noise from the rear! Not sure what it is. Could it b a diff or suspension problem? It only dose it when turning a corner driving straight everything sounds fine!

Cheers guys

Phil

Yeah jack the car up and see if you can wobble the wheels (camber). I had a woob woob woob and it was rear bearings...

Thanx guys!

Also noticed tonight the drive train clunks a lot more than normal and once again in the rear and when car is warmed up not cold! When car is cold everything is smooth and sounds nice but once driven for 30mins or so it's so clunky and noisy no matter how smooth u use the clutch etc! f*cking hate going to the dealers with annoying problems all the time!

Noisey while cornering could be spider gears in the diff, as they only work while turning. Also maybe...wheel bearing...not likely though. Whoop Whoop noise is generally a bearing noise.

I did a 10,000km trip over the last few weeks and now have a noisy diff (towed a 12x6 trailer with a small car on it for the last 2500km)

Took it in to Ford dealer and they said....One rim is dented and that is making the noise. Long story short...rim was dented on a dirt road on a shortcut trip to Cairns.

Anyway, diff was noisy long before then.

I have been a mechanic since I qualified when I was 20. Im now 49. These F&%$ H#@$ have NO idea.

Going back on friday to sort it out. Very angry....
