Hello all,

I have had a very serious problem that almost caused me a major accident on a very busy freeway.

I have a 2003 BA XR6T with a 4 speed auto.

What happens is that out of nowhere the D will start flashing, and the gears wont shift properly, it will rev really high then drop gears suddenly.. I was driving on my way home, and on the freeway D started flashing, so I laid off the accelerator and as I started dropping in speed the car I think dropped gears very suddenly causing strain on my gearbox and started skidding... it then goes into limp mode and acceleration comes on and off but wont let me go over 3k.

I scanned it and the codes are as follows:

P0230 - FUEL PUMP PRIMARY CKT
P0753 - SHIFT SOLENOID A - ELECTRICAL
P0758 - SHIFT SOLENOID B - ELECTRICAL
P0763 - SHIFT SOLENOID C - ELECTRICAL
P0768 - SHIFT SOLENOID D - ELECTRICAL
P1131 - LACK OF H02S - 11 SWITCHES - SENSOR INDICATES LEAN (B1,S1)
P1227 - WASTEGATE FAILED CLOSED ( OVER PRESSURE)
P1465 - A/C RELAY CKT
P1474 - FAN CONTROL PRIMARY CKT
P1746 - PRESSURE CONTROL SOLENOID A OPEN CKT
P1748 - PRESSURE CONTROL SOLENOID OPEN CKT

I'm really not sure what to do about it, no one knows what it is... ive checked the amps of the battery using a multimeter and it is fine..
The last thing I did to the car is changed a coil, and degreased the motor and lightly sprayed the engine bay, covering all the electrics with plastic bags...

Absolutely any advice/help will be extremely appreciated!

Nah in all seriousness, take it back to DTM, if you can safely, and get them to have a look.

Did you get any sort of warranty when they rebuilt it? 7 months isnt a real long time..... im praying you've still got the invoice.

Maybe, for the time being, disconnect the battery, and let everything reset.

leave it disconnected for 10 mins, then go for a light easy cruise. see what happens.

Yeah I think I will clear fault codes, disconnect battery, let it all reset and see what happens. I still have the invoice and its covered by a 12 month warranty, only issue is I didn't get the work done, the guy who sold it to me did, but the warranty should still apply to me right?

No point stressing about something that may not be a problem.

Firstly, go do the reset thingy, and see how that goes.

If no good, take it to DTM, with your receipt, and a good attitude.

Your approach to the situation could be crucial to them either honouring your warranty, or severly raping your wallet.

Could be worse, the box could have been rebuilt by RVO......
