Nelsonian, what track days do you usually attend? I'm also in Sydney, would like to do some casual track stuff too.

Definitely head out this one below.

Book ASAP as spaces fill up.

I also attend the Driving solutions days at SMP sometimes.

Also did a time attack (sorry consistency) round here last year at Marulan.

That grey XR lives around the corner from me. That car is some serious dollars! Ex origanal V8 supercar front bar etc.

That car is owned by "Rosie" on this forum.

Quickest XR6T circuit car I know of!

Thanks mate! Unfortunately for circuit stuff, my car is a ZF auto, so I don't think it can take too much at a track day, but I'm keen to have some fun and learn to drive properly!

My car is a ZF auto also.

They are fine for circuit days. Just leave in Performance mode if learning to free up some brain power for your lines/braking points.

In winter they don't get too hot. Just don't do too many laps and remember to do a cooldown lap. I drive out of the complex at Wakefield for a few kms, do a U turn and back to cool brakes, engine etc

3rd in ZF can be used for most of the circuit at Wakefield in these cars. Just 2nd onto the straight and up to 4th on the main straight, back to 3rd for turn 2. Maybe 2nd at fish hook and turn 2 if there's traffic around.

With a few mods and power, 4th is needed up the hill and down the hill and the back straight.

It did over 20 trackdays without an external cooler too.

I just changed the fluid/filter every year along with the heat exchanger.

Actually getting ZF rebuilt at CMS next week. Will be trying Mainlube oil this time.

Hi, I'm new to the forums.

So for the street, it would be better to use a staggered setup? To keep the look, even though track isn't on my mind.

On the street I use a staggered set up with 18 X 8.5 +30 front (245-40 Good year Asymmetric) and a safe 18 X 9.5 +35 rear (275 or 285 street semi).

Camber is returned to stock settings.

Wide fronts aren't required for the street because you cant drive fast enough legally to really push the front end. Hurt economy too.

Rear guards may need to be rolled though if fitting a 285 rear but it depends on a lot of factors. There is panty of info in the FG offsets forums.

Went out to Wakefield yesterday.

Great weather.

Shaved another 0.2sec off with a new 1.08.26.

Not a lot of clear laps but enough to have a great time.

The Z214's are still very good condition after 3 track days and I will flip them before next session due to inner/camber wear.

Installing a fibreglass bonnet, custom vents and a race seat for next year.

Some greats shots by Angel#3.

Thanks mate.

Congrats on your 1min 15 with a pretty much stock G6E turbo, still on factory Dunlops even!

Even with the 1000lb front springs, surprising how far the nose still dives.

I did lower it another 10mm though to try out.

Overtake some slow "race cars". The straight line punch from these cars is unmatched.

Front negative camber of 3.5deg really helps with high speed turn in confidence at turn 1.

Thanks Paul some photo turned out ok.

Yeah pretty stocked about my time and with stock everything bar from brakes a 1.15 is ok.

I think the bug has bitten because I'm thinking I just might get myself a track day car in a few years. I had sooooo much fun.

Thanks for a good day mate.
