I hope we only get the V8 as they say. A four cylinder Mustang would be gayer that a handbag full of rainbows.

Hrmmmmmm.....

You'll only find me in a Super Snake

That's an April fools joke

Ah I see.

Ford, the company that jokes about making things people might be interested in but makes advertisements that surely must be jokes, but unfortunately aren't: a la "the girl with one shoe cause her dad said so" and "the asian guy who turns up his car stereo so he can't hear his baby crying" or "the young couple being haunted by the ghost of John Farnham"

LOL

Bunna calls it like he sees it.

Latest from the rumor mill (from PFV death article) http://smh.drive.com.au/motor-news/ford-to-kill-gt-falcon-early-20130716-2q1nh.html

Beyond 2016, Ford will then replace the outgoing Falcon with a global product line-up which includes two variants of an all-new Mustang coupe currently under development. The entry-level pony car will be powered by a twin-turbo V6, priced from about $40,000, while the flagship will be a V8 coupe priced from about $60,000. Our source also indicated the next-generation Mustang will not be built with supercharged powerplants, thereby eliminating the likes of high-powered Shelby models in the future.

So they expect to sell a two door for the same dosh as a 4 door in a market gone to crap as it is...

Good luck with that.

Why do they think Holden dropped the Monaro...

And ppl won't be leasing them if the Rudd govt changes to FBT on cars is as bad as it looks to be, every second person I know has a novated lease, of they kill the FBT incentive then the car industry is going to be hurting even more.

If they sort out build quality issues I'm in. Would love a v8 sports car. Sick of big taxis with sh*tty v8s or turbos. Time for a real sports car to shake up the performance car scene in Oz.. Twin turbo could be interesting too.. Hopefully heaps of aftermarket upgrades and no leaf suspension though

Hello - Aren't the pictures shown above of the GT500 Shelby which are currently available for around mid to high $100's depending whether a demo shipped from the states (say $160k+) or used for $130's . Are we now saying that not Shelby 's but something in the same vein is going to be available post Ford for around $60's ?????

If so, what will that mean to the owners of current F6 and GT models ??? .

The current rear end of the Mustang looks like a Toy Car with it's crappy white strikes on the tail lights, I liked the 2006 era Models much more.

The interior also is nothing flash all to square and bulky.

For a car starting at $60,000 it better have decent power, would be awesome to have a Straight 6 Turbo Mustang

I seriously doubt Ford Aus are currently seeing the demand for a large sedan to bother going through the cost of importing and complying it. They'll probably import something to replace Territory with something like that Ranger SUV (which will just be another car they can't supply) and hope Mustang covers the gaps. I just hope they don't try and call them the FPV F6 and GT...
