Brent, are you a technical writer by any chance?

@ Paulie2256 ... Not at the moment mate, just purchased my first Ford. I am a professional photographer and noticed that there wasn't many visual guides to the mods that I was planning on doing so thought why not give others in my situation the heads up.

TBH I don't actually know much about being a 'technical writer' but I will be documenting the mods I do with high quality photos and be posting them as I do them for a little side project.

Next I have a pro audio shop installing a high end stereo so going to hang with him at his shop and take shots of what he does during his installs.

Thanks for all the feedback guys much appreciated.

I did this yesterday

I removed the bulb casing and soldered an led straight to the board

Only problem was that the wires for the led twisted and shorted and meant when I would start my car it would stop after a second and say security code error and wouldn't start for ages

So if you solder an led to the board make sure it is done well and doesn't short out

Was just looking through my BF shop manual and came across a statement that says the bulb isnt replacable and that the whole PATS must be replaced. Nice way for ford to trick people into blowing money when it can be replaced.

grrrrrr. had this part accessed on my FG, but didn't look like it was a wedge bulb (thought it was fixed/soldered to the board)

time to order a bulb :)

Mate, how did you go with changing the bulb on your FG? All good?
