does the turbo need to be bored out for an exhaust?

and the actuator whats the go with all 3 im abit confused atm..

looking at a 4inch dump to a 3inch system x force and love the sound of external gate?

DLM will put a gate on your turbo for you

3" exhaust is too small

Welcome mate !!!. But my advice is to do some reading. Education is the key.

External wastegates are illegal and in most cases unnecessary. I also think that upgrading should be a gradual process. It allows you to become familar with the car, and your own limitations. Personally I would look to 1000cc injectors (as you progress through power levels, you will find that they will be capable for most of your future power expectations, and E85 if desired)Next get a good cooler and piping, something that will support 700-800 hp or beyond. You will require a good fuel system, but at the very lest I would look to a 400lph intank pump, and a surge tank and external pump later if needed.A 3 inch exhaust will not flow as much as the factory system, but a 3 1/2 inch will provide an easy 700rwhp. Finally find a respected and honest tuner, this is without doubt the most importnt part of the entire process. The BFII Typhoons are are great car as a starting point, so nice choice there.

Cheers

thanks mate so far I have done 60lb injectors, high flow cat, plazaman 800hp cooler, air intake and battery relocation and im 340rwkw..im just looking now to get more power and the next mods I need are a surge tank with fuel pump and full exhaust, plus the turbo mods (actuator)... im just stuck with turbo mods as I dont know too much about internal and external gates and ive heard they bore out the turbo so im abit confused here. ive done a fair bit of research it just wont click lol.

any suggestions turbo wise? I love the sound of external gates and I heard they are better for more power as eventually in the long run I do want to be running quite abit of power.

You can bore/port out your internal wastegate and add a bigger flapper and a 12psi actuator which is good for plenty of power 400+kw which is what I have done and is what most do. Or you can pay someone to weld your internal gate shut and drill a hole in the rear housing and weld up an external gate. And you said you like the sound of it I'm assuming you like the sound of a screamer which is what impellor said its illegal.

are you mechanically minded? do you have the tools and somewhere to do the work if yes to all them then yea its not that bad a job. but when you take it off you will have to give it to someone that knows what they are doing when it comes to porting ect. where are you from and who would you get to port it?

iv got the tools and yes basic mechanical minded always willing to learn so if its not too bad then id spend a good day doing it that's not the problem. I take my car to bluepower in campbellfield im from melb, they do a good job there and are willing to do it all just low on the $$ atm so thought id save myself the labour.. so basically all they will do is bore out the internal wastegate, install 12 pound actuator and install a bigger flapper??
