Hi Guys, in real need of any ideas!! Please!! I have a 2008 FG XR6 t with the following mods...... upgrade exhaust , injectors , intercooler and flash tuned giving me 330 rwkw. that's where the fun ends. Continually getting a Transmission fault P0735 appears when in 6th gear and it drops to 5th , revs high , cannot change gear , just need to pull over turn engine off and start again.

Took it back to tuners who suggested an oil change on transmission, Done and Just the same. Took it to Ford main dealers ( amongst other names ) who told me the transmission needs replacing / rebuilding at a cost of $5900 ( in addition cleared my flash tuner and had to replace!! ) . Took it back to tuners who said they can get transmission rebuilt , all fitted etc for $2200. Went ahead with the overhaul and they found 3rd and 5th clutch's worn so replaced . Picked up on Friday and guess what ....................... just the same!!!!!

Going back in on Monday but was wondering if there is anyone out there who have experienced anything like this themselves and who have any idea where / what to try next.

From someone who really just wants to drive around without having to worry about things going wrong

Any ideas please!!!

Davo

Generic OBD Error Code Details for P0375
Timing Reference High Resolution Signal "B"
What does this mean?OBD Code P0375refers to
The optical sensor provides a high resolution signal to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) by counting pulses on the sensor disk located in the injection pump. The high resolution is one of the most important inputs by the PCM for fuel control and timing. This test monitors the number of high resolution pulses which have been missed (not detected). It's based on a comparison between the number of pulses that were detected since the last pump cam pulse and the number of the pulses that should have occurred. There are approximately 64 high resolution pulses for every cam pulse.
SymptomsPossible sumptoms of OBD code P0375
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
CausesPossible causes of OBD code P0375
- Open or short in the optical sensor circuit - Optical sensor connector - Damaged optical sensor - Damaged PCM or ECM The Error code is generally activated on detection of the following conditions: Some high resolution pulses are missing from the optical sensor to the PCM
Possible Solutions- If damage, repair optical sensor circuit - Replaced optical sensor - Replaced PCM or ECM

Davo,

You said P0735 not P0375, correct? Did the gear box fault and then shift back to fifth or are you saying that when it shifted back to fifth it faulted and logged the P0735? The error code is related to "Gear 5 ratio incorrect". The gearbox monitors and compares input and output ratios and if they do not match the required value then a code will be logged and possible limp mode will result. The cause to this could have been your clutch packs which have been replaced but there may be another issue electonically causing the gearbox to do this.

I'd suggest talking to a ZF specialist. As mentioned this may not be your local Ford dealer as it seems their resolution like many dealers is to remove and replace.

Benny.
