Hi guys

A week or so ago I noticed a ticking noise when turning left while driving. Sounds like a stone stuck in the tyre but more metalic. Yes I did check for stones first :D . I must point out that it happens while moving. Not the stand still steering rack slip problem.

Symptons:

Only ticks while turning left when driving. Driving right is fine

Only happens after driving for awhile - never happens start away

Ticking sounds like a stone stuck in wheel but more metalic.

Ticking noise happens on every 1 revolution - tyre or brake most likely involved

Braking while it happens doesnt stop the ticking

The more you turn the louder it can become

Car:

06 BF typhoon lowered with brembo 6 pots

Any ideas? ...steering rack? wheel bearing? I have given it a visual check and cant see anything like scuf marks etc. I keep thinking maybe the brake line is touching something like a wheel weight

I have the same thing when turning right - strangely enough if you turn the fan speed up and down the speed of the ticking changes.

I'm thinking its the blower unit behind the glovebox but I haven't been able to get to it yet...

OP which wheel? Front or back? Assuming its front. Check the brake lines - Fords did a recall (not sure if this is valid for your brake setup) as the lines were too short and maybe something has happened. You need take the wheels off to get a good view of the brake lines. I changed my brake lines on my BA.

Others - yeah get a ticking noise with my air com fan near 3/4 high setting - think its bearings as well - must be an age thing with our cars :nono:

nope, nothing to do with heater unit.

The ticking is coming from the front right wheel when turning left. First thing that popped into my head was brake line touching something it shouldnt. Other ideas people have come up with are disc brake not properly secured, loose bolt etc

Not a CV joint noise. Its the outter wheel area.

LOL no not the indicator

diff bush?

any other ideas? wheel bearing?
