What do you mean

Car looks much nicer and its newer too, a proper BF2. It’s obviously had the car yard spruce up, but having a look at that bay shows it hasn’t been molested, all inlet plumbing hose clamps match

As you said "but not to out of control either" If you find a manual BA MK2 with a T56 gearbox and low km's, dont rule it out. 300-330 rwkw's is still a very exciting seat of ya pants rush. As long as

FG F6* suspension, you mean? lol the XR/G6 etc are not as good as the F6 :) But you still don't know what you're missing (or are too frail to appreciate it) in a correctly modified suspension car :stirthepot:

Converting 2008 Ford Falcon XR6 BF Mk II to turbo

Hi guys, So I'm looking at buying a 2008 Ford falcon XR6 MKII 6 speed with about 450,000km's on the clock its a company car been regularly serviced has new tires needs no work for RWC, Its really cheap like $1000-$1400 Thinking about putting a new motor into it at some point but thought might just put the XR6 turbo and manual box into it from a wrecked XR6 turbo manual donor please don't tell me to just buy a turbo XR6 for this price I can't let it go even with high clock.

  • what are thoughts on buying a car with this many kilometers
  • what are cost and problems I might run into converting it to new motor and box,
  • is it really worth it if want XR6 'Turbo manual" in terms of cost for parts? I don't mind putting some work into it
  • thoughts?

hey there guys,

I've been looking at the fg xr6t sedans as my next car and just not sure what to look out for.

I see that the manuals are quite a bit more pricey than the autos but I personally would love a manual. Should I be scared of high Kms in these cars, looking at one on car sales for <$13 000 with just over 200 000kms, is it worth spending the extra few grand for less kms?

thankyou guys,

Ben

same as any car, high km can be a risk, but if the car is properly maintained (service history) and you're willing to be ready to spend a bit extra on maintenance items over time, then it's fine to purchase one.

looks like a good purchase to me, but I haven't been looking around at prices for a while so I wouldn't know if that's a little over the top... but if you're sure you can get it registered into your name (transfer with RWC) and you were planning to do similar modifications, then it's probably worth it.

Thanks for the info. Is anyone in this forum locted in adelaide that would be willing to look at this car for some $. I know interstate purchases are risky but reading through a few topics on this forum there are some very clued up people that would give me more info than say a redbook inspection.

Morning everyone! In the market for an XR6T and the dealership sent me a photo of the engine bay.

I noticed there's a small dampness around the breather pipe area. Real Dyno in Brisbane said this is pretty normal and just curious on anyone else's experience.

I have attached the picture for reference. Granted, the bay is dusty which obviously would exacerbate any wet spots on the engine bay.

The car has a VCM tune and exhaust and just want to make sure something like this is rather normal before buying.

Cheers guys.

Hey there gents I’ve finally got all my points back and got abit of cash saved to buy a bigger car than my current Ute so I’m opting for a XR6T looking more towards a ba or bf than an Fg I’m looking for as little ks as possible I found a 2003 model that looks very very clean with no mods but it has 230,000kms on the clock the car looks extremely clean and well looked after but I’m abit worried about the ks is there some things I should be looking out for before I take the leap on it

cheers
