A contractor was repairing a two post vehicle hoist in a

workshop. The contractor had isolated the

power and was disassembling the hoist post to access

the ram. Realising that the hoist arm was too low to

reach the ram the contractor re-engaged the power to

lift the arm to access the ram. The contractor finished

work for the day failing to isolate the power. The

following morning the contractor returned to the

workshop to complete the repair work on the ram and

proceeded to assemble the hoist post without isolating

the power again. On reaching the top of his

aluminium ladder he apparently leant on the exposed

wires from the hoist arm. The wires made contact

with the ladder and the contractor received an electric

shock (415v).

Inconsiderate *beep* - they never think of the additional forms to be filled in after a workplace accident do they?

Probably a stupid question, but was he ok?
