Cool Stuff You Just Bought

Recommended Posts

The goodies arrived just in time for the long weekend, bloody ripper.

All from Mal Wood Automotive.
Option 5 Clutch
QA1 SFI rated bell housing
T56 Magnum
New CSC, flywheel bolts, news clutch feed lines, 16mm master to suit the twin plate better than a factory spec 19mm master.

Going by the el cheapo calipers I have the magnum input shaft is approx 4mm thicker than the tr6060 so that's a decent upgrade. The casing looks a heap better/thicker all around aswell.
New bell housing is a bit slimmer than the factory part too, will make the solid mount install a bit easier. b3d6d2bae767127c54f6cb9e82888a26.jpgf01361672b11e3aa1a8355b1f734b621.jpgf1fe2fe51d96ad13fff7cab7328da07b.jpg

Haven't turned up yet, but need to tell someone.   Got some inner soles for the new socks I bought last week

Picked this up today: Dropped by the school to pick the kids up this afternoon. Exhaust note set a car alarm off and a bloke stopped his car in the middle of the street and asked me if I wanted to se

Got some shiny bits for the ute.

Only sh*tty part is I didn't get the adaptor to suit a hurst shift handle by the looks of it the Mal's shifter suits the stock handle.
I'll either re use my "core" short shifter or sort a bit of stock and drill it out tomorrow. Don't want no rubber stuff in between, solid shifter is a better shifter.

lots of driveline vibrations in the cabin if it's solid mounted, but you're right that the engagement feel is almost worth it in a street car :)

That's the plan hey,
Originally went with the Xtreme twin plate kit. Brilliant clutch for what it's intended, grips hard, race car noise and feel and if that's what your after its brilliant, can't fault it.

But after driving a car with the option 5 I wanted one, so quiet. Missus likes the ute but not the clutch so compromised.
Perfect timing I reckon, Xtreme dies at no fault of its own then a brilliant opportunity to upgrade the lot.

New speakers for my home setup. To call these speakers amazing is an understatement and doesn't even remotely do them justice. They look and sound farking incredible!

Actually did get a text from them last night asking me to turn it down a bit as it was scaring their kids and they couldn't sleep 😳 Actually felt pretty bad, so obviously turned it down. I generally have a pretty good relationship with them.

Haha - too funny.

Catch up with them in person and apologise, explaining you'd just got the new toys and had to play.

Just don't pay Texas Chainsaw Massacre or pron too loud at night ;)

Well, they retail new for $12.5k...I paid $4k. Still a lot of money, but I've lusted after a pair of these for over a decade, ever since I first heard a pair and they don't come up on the secondhand market often, especially not in Perth and at this price and condition.

4k is decent. I have a set of k2 that are worth 2k alone and nearly 10k worth of focal (car audio) gear sitting in my spare room doing nothing lol

if I found a set for 4K I’d be all over it to. They will shine when you get some more power to them lol

Yeah. Anyone I've told who's into hifi gear agree I got a pretty awesome bargain...which I really think I did! Now I just can't wait to pick up the centre speaker in a couple of weeks and then the dipole surrounds after that!

now to sound-proof your house... it never ends :buttrock:

Not really a whole lot I can do with respects to sound-proofing unfortunately, as this all resides in my open plan living room. I think the thing that was bothering the kids next door was the sub carrying...that and it rattles my patio a fair bit when it's up loud...😲

Yeah, I made a point of apologising and said I'd got some new speakers and just got a little carried away.

Nice pickup. How's the sound stage go with them that close together? Need the couch like where your coffee table is.

Bearing in mind that's a 65" TV and 1.5m wide cabinet, so it probably looks closer than it is...but soundstage is pretty bloody good, considering. It's never going to be the perfect home theatre room, given it's open plan and the kitchen is behind the sofa...but this setup now sounds pretty incredible, so no complaints here.

Would be awesome sounding!!!

Way better than our current home theatre set up of a 32 inch tv... 7metres from the couch... in a room with 3.5m ceilings.... and no speakers so only the tv sound.
