Yea I can brag $300 in credit 24hr aircon and everything else. @50c per kwh back into the grid. Saves around $4000 per year. I wonder how much horsepower that is...

Sold my petrol mower and whipper snipper this week
Decided to mow the yard when I got home today
Drove through a tropical storm on my way home
Got home and no rain, sweet still mow the yard
Go outside to the mower shed
Notice yard floating a bit down the back
Check gauge, 110 mm
................. Thankfully I have a real mower with an internal combustion engine
And a wipper snipper also with an internal combustion engine
No problemo
Mow the lawn half flooded
Feeling that power as I ran it through some standing water
Great to have a man's mower and wipper snipper a11304746ca85dac4914e2e8b8ddd411.jpgbade6ec12c2d204a0f2f5969eecdbdd8.jpg4ae74252909ddcea6e95ea535570d7ab.jpg

he has 24 hour aircon because he is getting big bucks for his solar back to the grid

that is no longer a thing for new customers

everyone now gets screwed over for their contribution to the grid

ie: I pay 27 cents per KWh and the energy co gives me 9 cents for my "green" energy

Mowing in the rain with electric mower just means potentially (much) tighter grip on the handle is all....

How big is your solar system? You had me at 24hr aircon

Mine is only 4kw hey its just the feed in tariff we got into before the change. My next door neighbours have 5kw and are a $1000 in credit they don't use as much as we do though. I could probably add a few more panels but its doing the job.

I'd like solar panels, but can't justify paying 5k for panels then selling the house in maybe a few years. I won't actually save any money haha

im in the same boat

Got a Coles/Myer voucher for Chrissy and was wondering what to use it for...so decided to go to Officeworks and get some Lifx smart bulbs. Got 4 of the mini colour ones for the lamps in my bedroom, entrance and living room. Also got a TP-Link smart switch to turn my display cabinet on and off. Like the functionality...but will be better once I can justify buying a proper smart home Hub (looking at the Athom Homey) and make life easier.

Have done, yeah. Fibaro would definitely be my preference over Vera, mainly due to the GUI...but it's like a grand. The Homey gets better reviews than both the others and is half the price of the Fibaro HC2, but essentially has all the same features and then some.
