Extended New Car Warranty For The Xr6t

Recommended Posts

Well looks like its a goer. Well you answered the other question for me as well. Was quoted 1265 for a 3 year up to 100k on the speedo for the warranty. As I have only done 40k in three years this should cover it. There is an option for 3y up to 160k on the clock for 1565.

Wanted to make sure the costs were pretty much standard accross the board.

I assume it is a Ford warranty and not just the local dealers warranty where I am forced to only get it serviced there.

Cheers for the quick responses ppl.

Clay

On the other hand this is the first car I have felt it necessary to have to purchase an extended arranty on.

That's definately the selling point

Wonder how the BF will stack up against the BA. You had such run with radiators etc.

Lumpy :cowboy:

I wonder how your panties will hold up.......

Interestingly the cover is jointly underwritten by Ford and Swann Insurance.

Yes it does cover Australia wide.

The price that the dealer charges is up to the dealer though. Although Ford have a RRP for the cover.

My suggestion would be take 20min to read through the booklet on the extended warranty at the dealer so you know exactly what cover you get.

You are also able to cash in the extended warranty when you sell the car or if it was written off.

I did this and got almost all the money I paid for it back.

Be carefull though.

Page 15, section 19, states;

Provided the plan price has been paid by the owner and Ford has not made a claim under this warranty, the owner may cancel this warranty at any time by writing to Ford to request cancellation.

Page 16;

Again, no refund will be provided if Ford has paid a claim under this warranty.

is the factory warranty alot better then dealers warranty? when I purchased my car I received 3 years dealers warranty which starts this september.

Did you recieve a Ford booklet called

" Ford Solutions Product Disclosure Statement"

" Extended New Vehicle Warranty"

This warranty is a full extension by Ford anywhere in Australia.

NOT just a warranty from where you purchased the car from. There are cheaper warranties out there that only cover certain items at the place of purchase.

I'm also going down this path, but the two options Peter Warren Ford are trying to sell me are limited to 160k or 175k. Both underwritten to Allianz.

By the time I get rid of the car it'll be 4 years old and will have around 200,000 on the clock so I need some warranty that will take me there...

Hi all

Can you buy a extended Ford warranty from a Ford dealer even if you did not buy the car there?

As I am looking at getting my XR6T from a Expensive Daewoo dealer crazy I know but only because I know the guy as he sold me my first XR6 and has been pretty good to me then he changed over to a Expensive Daewoo dealership.

Cheers :omg:

Hi, when I brought my T from a dealer, got the standard warranty any second hand car normally does. As well as an extended warranty for FREE. But the catch is for the warranty to remain valid

I have to have to regular servicing done by that dealer. Also after reading the finer details it doesn't really cover a lot. What I'm trying to find is an aftermarket extended warranty.

After searching the web have found that the US of a have plenty to choose from but not here.

Does anybody know of any in Oz? Contact details appreciated, Cheers.

It was bought and serviced at Bayford Coburg, any ideas?

wish I had read this thread before I bought my XR6T........

bought a one year old BFII XR6T (two years left on factory warranty) and took out a three year extension so it is covered to 2013. As I do a lot of kms I also went for the 200 000km option. Car can be serviced wherever and it looks like it covers everything the factory warranty does.

sounds good but after reading some of the posts here I reckon the $2900 I paid is too much....

what do you guys think?

I suppose the real test of any warranty is how they handle claims

According to ford my diff bushes need repairing/replacing. The car is still under extended new car warranty but Ford claim that it is invalid because I didn't transfer the warranty within a month after I bought the car from the previous owner. Is this BS? I've looked at the handbook and it says nothing of this.
