Well looks like its a goer. Well you answered the other question for me as well. Was quoted 1265 for a 3 year up to 100k on the speedo for the warranty. As I have only done 40k in three years this should cover it. There is an option for 3y up to 160k on the clock for 1565.

Wanted to make sure the costs were pretty much standard accross the board.

I assume it is a Ford warranty and not just the local dealers warranty where I am forced to only get it serviced there.

Cheers for the quick responses ppl.

Clay

On the other hand this is the first car I have felt it necessary to have to purchase an extended arranty on.

That's definately the selling point :laughing:

Wonder how the BF will stack up against the BA. You had such run with radiators etc.

Lumpy :cowboy:

I wonder how your panties will hold up.......

Interestingly the cover is jointly underwritten by Ford and Swann Insurance.

Yes it does cover Australia wide.

The price that the dealer charges is up to the dealer though. Although Ford have a RRP for the cover.

My suggestion would be take 20min to read through the booklet on the extended warranty at the dealer so you know exactly what cover you get.

You are also able to cash in the extended warranty when you sell the car or if it was written off.

I did this and got almost all the money I paid for it back.

Be carefull though.

Page 15, section 19, states;

Provided the plan price has been paid by the owner and Ford has not made a claim under this warranty, the owner may cancel this warranty at any time by writing to Ford to request cancellation.

Page 16;

Again, no refund will be provided if Ford has paid a claim under this warranty.

Did you recieve a Ford booklet called

" Ford Solutions Product Disclosure Statement"

" Extended New Vehicle Warranty"

This warranty is a full extension by Ford anywhere in Australia.

NOT just a warranty from where you purchased the car from. There are cheaper warranties out there that only cover certain items at the place of purchase.
