Sorry if hi-jacking, but on the note of combination switch buggered, could that be the same for the issue I'm having with my wipers and the water not spraying when I pull back the lever? The wipers move, but no water sprays out when trying to wash my windscreen.

Worth a looksie ciaran. Couple of screws to undo on the underside and then pull the top off and then should be able to see the wiring.

Ok guys, after reading and googling the problem I have a better understanding of what the problems are with the combination switch.

I found some sites with pictures where the wires seem to fray and break apart. When I come back to Australia I will pull the assembly out and have a look at the wires and I will attempt to repair them. Im not bad with the soldering iron and heat shrink lol.

At least im feeling a little more relaxed about the issue as I thought I would have immediatley been up for a $395 peice of plastic

Just checked my combination switch. 2 wires on the wiper side, both seem pretty intact and in good condition.

Probably the water pump assiciated to the wipers.

Car booked in with City Motors to be fixed on Tuesday, won't cost me anything

The wiring has been a bit short on some peoples cars so what happens is where the wire exits the stalk into the steering column housing it is resting against the corner of the housing. Overtime and use of the stalks it then cuts the wire at that corner it has to take to follow the column to behind the dash. So it will just look like a cut wire or 2.

Almost need that topic pinned in electrical as this same issue has been brought up multiple times recently.

Yup mine bf2 as well, so it's a common thing you reckon?

Did yours do the exact same thing mine did? Pull the lever and absolutely nothing happen? (no sound or anything from the motor but the wipers still work)
