Never understood the appeal of the modern Mustang myself. I can't get passed the fact it's live axle.

Ahh - so that's what the good thing is - the one Ford Australia build will probably be based on the existing Falcon under pinnings from my reading

More fun with a live axle :w00t2:

Typically, that story goes in about thirty different directions and says nothing! So are they suggesting that the Mustang could be built based on the falcon's rear-end once it is replaced with Taurus/Mondeo?

The four cylinder turbo concept will upset the purists. :pinch:

Live axle with the Turbo I6. Reminds me of Tokyo Drift!

Reminds me of my ute.

What worries me is this will all be done on a global platform. A one platform. A compromise for both. FWD and RWD are not the same chassis. And they will be doing both with one.

Either a brilliant chassis or a whole basket of lemons

That's one of the longest bows I've ever seen-they basically said "the mustang is rwd, the falcon is rwd, they could be related!"

I'll believe it when I see it.

That said, I've driven the latest mustang 302, straight after jumping out of a new GTP, and I friggin loved it. I want one badly. For me it appeals on the same level as my mates 370z-a more dedicated sports car, not a a taxi with a big engine. I'll still be keeping my F6 in the garage though.
