tbh, custom tune is the way if you're not happy with stock tune.

dump, hi-flow cat, injectors (optional but recommended for 300+kw although stocks CAN do it) upgraded CAI and if you want, intercooler.

That with a custom tune will put the stock figures (190-210rwkws) up to about 290-320rwks easy.

Probably cost between 3-4 grand though but is the easiest way.

Tbh flash tuners are pointless to people who dont change tunes or want there zf tuned.. If you wanna save 700$ then just get VCM

^^^

If I knew how to do it I'd do it myself, would have saved me $800 on the tuner, and another bunch on the tune, plus would be able to modify it myself saving retune moneys.

At the cost of a $100 or so licence it does seem a much better way if you're able to work the software and know what to change.

On that above note though, a reputable tuner will probably make the car perform much better than you could with their own custom tune.

Some people have paid for the VCM tune to be done by a proper tuner and then make changes themselves when they need them. For example, adding a RPM limit when it goes for a service.

yep what he said, if never changing tunes go the VCM and use the $700 you save on something else. Had XCAL on my old BF never changed the tune in 2 years of Owning it. Not once!

When I was looking into it vcm didn't have as many tables available as sct did. Not sure if this has changed.

For the new guys it pretty much means sct could change more in the PCM than what vcm could which would give you a more custom result.

I beleive VCM has caught up a fair bit with the tables but still not quite as good as sct but plenty good enough for most people. I could be wrong, just what I've heard.
