10 guage minimum for dump pipe.

If getting it custom made you always have option of stainless mufflers. As any dew build up will puddle in muffler more than anythin.

I think XForce still have Stainless dump and cat on there mild systems. Stainless would keep more heat out of your engine bay too wouldn't it?

Ok.

How it works. With mild steel against turbo the heat will travel down the tube, therefore dispersing and cooling better.

With stainless the heat doesnt travel and will heat red hot at turbo end wile still being able to touch it bare hand 1m further down.

Example is if u turned it on cold then revved till glowing.

10 guage is 3mm

I've actually read a thread on here where a chap claimed the best sound he's found is mild steel pipes, with stainless mufflers. Mild steel for deeper sound, stainless mufflers for crackle. It's a question of taste of course but the avoidance of rusting of mufflers might be worth it.

The stock systems are mild steel aren't they?

Stock is stainless, ford wanted to impress their mates and or girlfriends.

My cat and muffler tips are stainless but the rest of the exhaust is mild steel including the mufflers.

Stock is 409 ferritic stainless
