I've got a 1 inch thick bar that weighs 10 kg. The 20kg plates that fit it mustn't be as high as Olympic plates.

Fun fact, I permanently run a 5kg plate each side so I get a 20kg "bar".

How much you deadlifting these days @k31th?

I'll measure it for the plates we use commonly across Anytime Fitness gyms, if I can remember... Then bumper plates etc that are specifically for certain use-cases inside these AF's. They're all 20kg bars as far as I've experienced.

Makes sense to run 5kg each side with a 10kg bar.

I haven't deadlifted for a while and don't have it as part of my regimen as it's the one lift that I got the most niggles/injuries from, over a few years. But last time I did, I lifted 140kg for 3 but didn't try to lift anymore.

Will be interesting to see if there's a standard with Olympic style equipment, I'd assume there would be.

My strength program has deadlifts, the bodybuilding program doesn't. I'll keep doing them while the weight is increasing, then probably swap for a while.

Haha I always get so hyped up and excited talking about it here, then I actually have to lift the weights :roflmbo:

weights don't get lighter depending on the person haha they're still heavy even if the person lifting them is strong :P Can't wait to get in the gym tonight :) undecided if I should squash in my workout before the footy tonight or after... hmm probably before.
