Hi everyone,

Has anyone changed the valve springs on an FG or even a BA/BF?

I have the springs and all the tools to do it and I have changed springs before just looking to see if there are any tricks which can make it easier/harder?

I have tried searching for info but it seems hard to come by, any links would be appreciated also.

Sam

Ok thanks heaps guys.

Do I have to remove everything off the front of the engine to take the tension off the cam chain?

How did you do the tensioner last time? I have done about 12 cars moslty mates cars and every time I do it I say that's the last one. Tensioner doesn't need to come off, Release the timing chain tension by compressing the tensioner with the tensioner locking tool. If you dont have one just use a coat hanger I did it like that the first time, then I made the proper tensioner tool after that.

Good Luck with it.
