I have had a few members comment on experiences purchasing items from other members using the classifieds system and making comments about the fact that they had not received there items or have got the run around from people.

Even though the forum is not responsible for transactions between its members via the classifieds system as specified below:

CAVEAT EMPTOR (Let The Buyer Beware)

Members should be aware that when placing an item for sale in The Market area, or when purchasing an item that was posted in the aforementioned area, there is a "buy/sell at your own risk" policy in effect. The owner, administrators and moderators of FordXR6Turbo.com are in no way responsible for any transactions that take place as result of a posting on this site.

It is still our responsibility for us to insist to our members to follow a bit of common sense when making purchases via a medium such as the internet.

As with any online transaction I find it quite amusing that someone can send money to someone without any details other than the bank details provided to them. It seems to be more common than you think.

If you are doing a transaction using the classifieds system always follow these simple rules.

  1. Exchange Name, Telephone Number and any other relevant contact details. If you are the receiver of a purchased item ensure that your name and address are given correctly to avoid any confusion as to the sending out of the item.
  2. Ensure that both parties also receive the same information so that in the instance you do NOT receive your item you have a telephone number, address or email address to chase the item up.
  3. Ensure you get photos of items if it is something which quality, or completeness is important especially used items.
  4. If you still have not received the item, contact the site. We will do our best to provide you with access logs, email addresses, PM Messages, IP Address of the seller and more to provide to the authorities if need be. Your last option is to report it to the local authorities in your state.

Ensure that you follow these simple rules when dealing with sellers and buyers on the site. It can protect you from an unpleasant transaction experience.

If you have any other suggestions please feel free to list them here.
