Hi guys,

Going to replace my o2 sensor as I think it may improve my fuel economy but I'm confused on how many I need. I know BF T's have 2, have read BA N/A have 2, but BA T's(which mine is) only have 1? Could someone confirm please?

Also, are these just plug & play devices, ie, remove old one, fit new one? No resetting of ECU or similar?

Thanks for the reply's.....looks like its only 1 then. VB%20Beer.gif

I saw the ones on ebay, supposed to be genuine NGK(NTK) ones. Anyone bought from this buyer(actually there are 2 ebayers selling them claiming to be original) & did they work ok?

My understanding (maybe incorrectly) is that if your OS is not doing its job properly you would get engine lights/error codes etc - so I would be surprised if changing it makes any difference?

Happy to stand corrected, just what I was told at an EFI specialist recently who didn't change mine for that reason......(I thought I should get a new one also)

ps; BAs only have one.

A faulty o2 will not allways trigger a code, if it's just old and lazy or slow to respond, it may appear to be operating correctly, ie with in the correct voltage range, but be giving an incorrect signal

Someone else on the forum(earlier thread) said they tried one of them & didnt work well for them.

I'm getting intermittent engine light(3 times last night in quick succession....turn engine off then on again & it disappears), but my fuel economy is pretty average, so I'm hoping replacing it will fix one or the other, or maybe both(wishful thinking?)......+ can't hurt it for $70 odd.

Ratter - thanks mate, no doubt you are right so maybe I will look into it again....

Dush73 - might be worth it, especially for only $70. Doubt you will ever get decent economy though....oil companies love XRT drivers! ha ha

I got 2 genuine ford motorcraft ones from a ford dealer, labeled as ba fronts (longer wire ?)NTK, made in USA -original fitment was NTK, made in Japan. Mine is a bf2,but as I have a tune the rear isn't turned on , so only need one. The second sensor was for my mate with a Ba n/a xr6. Now the interesting bit,.. upon fitment in both cars it turns out the two little alignment lugs on either side of the sensors plug were in the mirror opposite positions to where the original ones are. The wires are the same colors in the same positions, just the little lugs are in the wrong place - for ba AND bf! I trimmed them off with a knife, as the plug still has its main locking tag, and it works fine in both vehicles. Just thought I'd share.
