Drivers side headlight H4 globe blew about 4 weeks ago so decided to upgrade to better headlihgt globes all round than the stock Ford ones. But I didn't want to go to the expense and installation of HIDs. Researched the Philips Crystal Vision and many others found them excellent for that what they are:

1. Drop in replacement globes.

2. Brighter than stock globes.

3. Are not expensive (full set of H7, H4 and parkers cost me $120 in Feb 2011).

One thing that was worrying me though in the back of my mind was how one of mates told me he skinned his knuckles trying to change a headlight globe on his BA. As I've got a low pain tolerance, here is EvilDaifu's DIY guide on how to change your globes for Philips Crystal Vision ones (or any other drop in replacement globes for that matter) without skinning your knuckles :roflmbo:

Hope some of you find it useful :beerchug:

Hey great write up Gary.

Strange thing is, when I did mine, I didnt get any horny looking chicks at the front of the car. Just the dog. Hmm. Wrong globes maybe.

Thanks for the mention too. You're a ledge.

Great write up mate.

One thing you may want to edit though. The picture of the screwdriver and shifter. It says to use the screwdriver "For leavering off H4 globe from it's globe holder".

I think it should say H7 globe.:spoton:

Yep, foggy globes can be changed out as well but I've not done it myself. I do know their damn expensive to replace - about $300 a side if you crack the glass on the foggy :nono:

For the fog lights you can drop the air deflector from under the front then unplug the foggie. Next you need to release the four corners that clip it into your bumper. Then simply with a bit of force seperate the front glass from the rest of the assembly and simply put the new bulbs in.

Just be wary that the hotside one can be brittle.

If anyone is interested the FG is pretty much the same but must have alot more room as it's a 5 min job without any skinned knuckles.

Fogs are easy just undo the inner guard enough to lift it and reveal the back of the fog. not hard even for a monkey with limited tools (me)
