How To Clean Your Throttle Body

So had the turbo inlet pipe off while cleaning throttle body and checking exhaust manifold bolts and found the inlet joiner had broken slightly, luckily the piece was just hanging on and hadnt gone into the inlet of the turbo.

Now its got some nice silicon and good hose clamps, probably should have done it ages ago but consider myself lucky it didnt turn out worse.

@FG2012XR6T , that is a solid mine :mole: right there.

 

Last post was in 2013, so I doubt that they will reply.

That being said, I am in IT and I did clean my throttle body. If I can do it, I am sure that you can too.

It is much lower down than the non-T version, and seems to require more disassembly of the ducting etc. I will revisit it again --just cautious about the sensing mechanisms.

I had to remove the throttle body to clean it, which means the cross over had to come out. it is time consuming but it can be done.

They aren't special clips. They are torque to snap ends, they pop off if you wiggle them with pliers etc then have normal hex ends from memory.
