The Great Wheel Bearing Farce.....

So I replaced the front wheel bearings about 9 months ago with genuine Ford items and

when I go for a drive today the drivers side is as noisy as and sounds ready to collapse.

How long is it reasonable to expect a f*cking wheel bearing to last.

Go back to HQ Holdens or XA Falcons and they would last 20 years as long as you pulled them out and re-greased them a few times.

I would not have done 10,000 ks since I replaced these little cuntox's.

I wont be giving the muppets at Ford my $ this time though. :finger:

Shoulda bought a f***n Nissan :censored:

I feel better now.......

Seriously though these things eat wheel bearing like nothing else.

Had 95,000 on when I put the new ones in but I bought the car with 65,000 so

no idea if they where the first set.

The weird thing is both times they got real noisy very quickly.

Not like there was a slight noise that slowly got louder. Just all

of a sudden got very loud from one drive to the next.

Agree, stupid design and the cause of many brake shudder problems. On a Vt Late model camira I changed to the Coretech brand and found it to cure wheel shudder with no ohter changes. They must have a better manufacturing tolerances than the factory SKF. Maybe try coretech for the ford instead of the ford part.

I did it ive been a mechanic since 1989.

Not that theres anything too hard about it besides getting the old ones off if you dont

have the right tools.

After Googling it there are plenty of horror stories about them getting done with very low ks on them.

I have bought a set already.....

Doesn't take long to wear them out if they are not set true in the first place. Ah the good old days of the grease nipple lol god I am old ha ha
