Hey fellas I have a fg xr6t and am I looking at purchasing a cooler im pretty new can you help I wont really be pushing the car past 400rwkw's

also could you list coolers that are easy to install an dont require much cutting :)

The radiator support in the FG is made from plastic. It also has the mounting points for the factory intercooler. When choosing an upgrade intercooler for your FG ask the vendor if all of the factory mounting points are retained. If any of them have to be removed (cut off) then you will not be able to re-install the factory intercooler down the track...this can be a big problem if you want to revert the car back to stock.

The pic below shows the mounting points Im speaking of...the PW does not require removal of these points...

There are some very weird and not so wonderful intercooler designs out there for the FG...choose carefully.

Many coolers offered for the FG Require complete removal (completely cut out) of the upper link of the rad support panel (between the upper intercooler mount points)

It too isnt something that would be considered as reversible.

I would think its not something many insurers would be in favour of either...

sir20B, does the PWR kit retain the factory mounting points?

Any statistics to see how well each kit match up against each other?

I guess when speaking to tuners, they would be fairly bias, as they would recommend the ones they stock...
