Hey guys

Lately ive been noticing some problems with the box in my ba xr6t. Its just the 4spd auto and ive been noticing its taking some time to change gears, if I go from neutral to reverse, it takes about 5 seconds before it actually clicks into reverse. Also in tiptronic when going down gears it isnt always going from 2nd down to first or takes 5-7 seconds after I shift it than it will jump down

Is my box on the way out or could it just be an electrics problem maybe the selonoid?

Cheers Guys

Does it do it when the oil is cold.? Mine done the same thing when I took it around the track and over heated it.When it cooled down went back to normal, but 6 months later new gearbox.

Id be checking the amount of fluid in the box first, and getting a service done. Trans cooler would also be quite helpful if not already done. As long as its not slipping it hopefully for your sake should be fine.

What speed are you doing when you try and select first? Maybe your going a bit too quick for the trans to want to shift into first. The big delay into reverse is a worry though and maybe first signs to start saving. If you do get a trans service done, make sure you take it to a trans place as they should do it properly and shim the band. They can also do a leak test of the clutch packs etc when the valve body is off. Alot more involved than just changing oil and filter if you want it done properly.
